Rise to the 2005 IBM North America Grid
Scholars Challenge
Register today to enter the 1st challenge for grid technology, a new contest
for college and university students this year. Students can participate by
creating an innovative grid open standards architecture proposal, evaluating an
existing grid standard or making a prototype implementation or improvement to
an open source grid implementation for services, middleware components, or
application development.
What is the Challenge?
The 2005 Grid Scholars Challenge is a contest for university students in the
United States and Canada. The objectives of the contest are to:
> Promote
interest in grids and open source implementation
> Foster
involvement and understanding of grid computing in university computer science
> Advance
technology in grid architecture and standards
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 entries as judged by experts in grid
technology. These students each will receive an IBM ThinkPadŽ T-Series and the
university with the single 1st place entry achieving the highest score will be
awarded an IBM eServer Cluster 1350.

To enter the 2005 IBM North America Grid Scholars Challenge, read the
rules, register for the contest, then
choose a challenge. Once you've completed your
challenge, please submit your essay to our
panel of judges.
